Amanda Gordon
Associate Marriage and Family Therapist
Human, compassionate therapy.
Virtual sessions anywhere in California.
Supervised by Bren J. Fraser, MA LMFT#45649
I offer a compassionate, grounded online space for individuals in California navigating life’s challenges, transitions, and desire for deeper self-understanding. I also support relationships struggling with communication and connection challenges. My approach integrates somatic practices, depth-oriented work, and humanistic, trauma-informed, evidence-based care to support healing, growth, and meaningful change.
My approach is relational and insight-oriented, grounded in deep respect for each person’s lived experience. I support clients in exploring patterns, processing emotions, and developing a more compassionate relationship with themselves, so they can engage in their lives and relationships with greater clarity, authenticity, and connection.
Together, we’ll strengthen your connection to your inner voice through creative exploration, and build the skill of honoring that voice. Our work may include processing past experiences, developing healthy boundaries, and building resilience.
I strive to create an affirming, inclusive environment where all parts of you are welcome and respected. You deserve a space to feel seen, heard, and supported.
My approach to therapy
I have training in and integrate a number of the following orientations and modalities in our sessions, including:
Internal Family Systems
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
Emotionally-Focussed Therapy
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy
Care plans are customized to the individual(s) based on the specifics of the situation—which needs are strongest in the moment, which approaches most resonate with the client, what’s been tried in the past.
My clients
I work with a diverse set of clients: neurodivergent and neurotypical individuals, families, parents, and other relationship partners. One main focus of my training and clinical experience has been on providing affirming care for LGBTQIA+ individuals and supporting neurodivergent adults struggling to thrive in a neurotypical world.
I also have a special interest in helping people work through the difficulties of living in a body that can feel limiting or even antagonistic—be it disability, chronic pain, chronic or acute illness, or hormonal shifts.
